My name is Dee Wheatley and I would like to give you an outline of the service I provide, along with the ethos contained therein.
I offer a complete, bespoke and professional service that covers funerals, memorials and scattering-of-ashes ceremonies. A commemoration is created that celebrates the life of a loved one in a tone that family and friends can relate and respond to. The content of the service is tailored according to what you feel is important, both in terms of the kind of ceremony itself and also your loved one’s tribute. Families are supported and encouraged to organise the funeral ceremony in a way which best befits the life that is being commemorated. It is up to you and your family to decide whether you require religious content, the degree of formality you would like to see observed throughout proceedings and anything at all pertaining to the tone and content of the ceremony.
In most cases, the shared experiences and knowledge of family and/or friends is drawn upon in order to reflect and respectfully celebrate the life of your loved one.
As a qualified, professionally trained and experienced Funeral Celebrant, I will support you and your family in the creation of a truly personal and unique ceremony. We will meet and discuss your loved one, exploring your wishes with regards to which narrative aspects best reflect his or her life and personality and what that life has meant to you and your family and why. Your memories, anecdotes and experiences are then encapsulated in the written ceremony to which you will have full access for revisions and additions prior to the service. This ensures that the result reflects well upon your loved one. I provide a commemorative copy of the written ceremony for you to keep afterwards, designed, as it has been, to tell the story of a life lived and loved.
My approach is to work with my clients in the development and creation of a funeral which best befits the life it is designed to commemorate. The skills I draw upon are applied with respect, sensitivity and compassion and my aim is to deliver an appropriate and unique ceremony that reflects the wishes of my client, along with the essence of the life they wish to pay tribute to.
